Developer takes 1,360-condo Scarborough plan to Ontario tribunal

UrbanToronto reported that a revised three-tower condominium plan in Scarborough is now before the Ontario Land Tribunal after the city did not decide on it. Both applications were appealed this month for non-decision, a route open when a city has not ruled.

Mark’s Choice Limited has replaced earlier towers of 34 and 42 storeys with three of 26 to 49 storeys. Condominium units rise from 880 to 1,360.

In January 2025, provincial approval moved the southern part of the site from General Employment Areas, land set aside for workplaces such as offices and factories, to Mixed Use Areas, where homes, shops and offices can mix. The new submission seeks the same change for the northern part, to fit the third tower.

The site is about 400 m from a future Scarborough Centre station on Line 2. It is not yet known when the tribunal will hear the appeal.
